Alyssa Gonzalez, MC, Registered Psychologist

Counselling
I believe that therapy is a collaborative process built on trust, respect, and authenticity, where clients feel supported in exploring their experiences, strengthening resilience, and creating meaningful, lasting change.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, post-traumatic stress, stress and burnout, relationship concerns, grief, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, and emotional regulation difficulties. I have a particular passion for supporting individuals in their recovery from trauma and offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy as part of a comprehensive, individualized approach to healing. My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each client's unique needs, integrating evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, mindfulness-based interventions, and other modalities informed by current psychological research.
I recognize that seeking therapy is a significant step, and I strive to create a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. My goal is to help individuals develop practical skills, gain deeper insight into themselves, and move toward a life that is aligned with their values and personal goals.
I am committed to ongoing professional development and maintaining the highest standards of ethical and clinical practice to ensure my clients receive effective, evidence-informed care. I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and a member of the Psychological Association of Alberta.
Outside of my clinical practice, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and children. I value maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle and can often be found outdoors exploring nature, hiking, or engaging in physical activity. I believe in the importance of balance, self-care, and meaningful connection, values that also inform my approach to supporting clients in their own well-being.
